To those with an ACT stg 1 clutch

Had Nissan install a ACT Stage 1 clutch. had problems the past few weeks. took it to nissan to be looked at. and the clutch release bearing on the pressure plate is crushed. it actually is starting to be revesered. by that it has doubled over in itself. the clutch CAME with OEM release bearing. What release bearing came with your clutch? the pressure plate, disk, release bearing is on the way back to ACT hopefully to find that they are defective and going to be replaced. so i was wondering if anybody has had any problems with their ACT clutch or what kind of release bearing came with the kit?

thank for your help

where does the TOB go? which one is the pressure plate? is that the one that looks almost like a fan blade?

the bearing i am talking about , i think goes to the pressure plate, the one with the slits in it. it looked like a car ran over it

The Throw out (release) bearing is the one you're talking about. My money is whoevery installed your clutch put the release bearing in wrong...and that's why it's fu*ked.

My ACT came with an OEM TOB...it's been in since may with no problems.

EMax- The ACT is a OEM plate that is modified for MUCH more plate pressure..they also use a stock disc...and modify the marcel for a quicker engagement.

Doesn't mean they did it right. Nissan has many idiot techs. I will NEVER take my maxima to a dealer again. I've already had to pay $1600 for a tranny rebuild becuase a Nissan tech screwed it up and wouldn't take the blame.

IMHO take your car to a local shop, go in there sounding like you know what you're talking about when you need something done, and you acutally get to talk to the mechanic that will be working on your car.
