Adjusting Camber??? Help!!..
#1
Okay, my car has been acting really weird lately. It follows grooves on the road and feels really "jumpy". So while I was changing oil today I decided to look under the car. No damage to anything that I could see. I pulled out the report sheet from my last allignment and looked at it. I have 0 Camber on my left front wheel. -0.2 on the right front. I know I shouldn't have 0 camber on my front wheels. So my question is. Can I correct this myself? Will taking off my strut bolts and pushing the strut towards the middle of the car and tightening help? For you suspension experts. Where is my report. Any input would be great..
Left Front:
Caster: 2.7
Camber: 0.0
Toe: 0.10
SAI: 13.1
Included Angle: 13.3
Right Front:
Caster: 3.0
Camber: -0.2
Toe: 0.10
SAI: 7.7
Included Angle: 7.2
Whats SAI?? Why are the two #s so far off??

i don't know if this helps but...
ingalls does make a camber kit for the maxima front that's only like 20 bucks. it gives you +/- 1.0 camber...it looks pretty straightforward. replace a factory bolt thingy with theirs and i'm guessing you can adjust the amount of camber you want from their.

Ingalls? More info please. You're saying I have to replace the caps of my strut? The thing that has the three bolts? Ouch.. If I were to do that.. I'd redo my suspension.. But more info please.. =)

I don't know much about the camber bolts, but here's the link to their site. There should be some pretty good info.

Stillen has camber kit bolts as well. It runs about $30-40. Just have them installed (they replace stock strut bolts) and then get your car aligned. You can adjust +/- 1.0 degrees. When you call Stillen they will try and get you to buy camber plates that run a lot more, I think around $300. Don't go for it. Just get the camber kit.

you can try the ghetto-rigged setup.. lol
in Grassroots Motorsports, they had a Mustang where they drilled out the upper strut bolts to allow for camber adjustment just by moving the strut unit inward/outward... but most people aren't will to drill ..hehe.. get the camber plates for a cleaner setup. but, you'll have to remove the springs/struts to install them.. 3-4 hour job.

i think camber plates give you ...
a harsher ride because of the metal to metal contact, plus they're too damn much. i would get the camber plates if i had coilovers though, but for lowering springs i think camber bolts are the sensible alternative.

BTW these bolt near the bottom of the strut assembly not the strut tower bolts on top.
