Re: Removing Wood Trim

Hello all,

I have a 98 max SE and it came with the factory wood trim. I want to remove it but my questions are

1. How do you remove it safely?
2. What is underneath the trim? Is the trim just put right on top of the factory dash?

Thanks everyone....

Lefty

i removed parts of my trim by useing a hair dryer... once it gets heated up, just slowly start peeling away at it...

once it's all off and you might still have gooy material on the dash,
i used a white eraser and just kept eraseing the gooy stuff, until the dash was nice and shiny

theres other stuff out there to remove that gunk.

I suggest using the search function Other threads will contain info on how to remove wood trims, and how to remove that gunky stuff...

Darn!!! You are in Canada. If you were close by I would have driven to your place we could have exchanged the panels. That way you get rid of the wood trim and I get it for free . You can do that with someone up there who wants wood trim.

Heat gun and lots skin on your finger to rub the gunk off. They do sell those pin strip and adhesive remover at your local auto body supply store. It's a drill/air tool attachment. Looks like a rubber disk. It suppose to remove those gunk without scratching up the surface. You might want to try it to remove the gunk. I didn't invest in the tool and lost bunch of skin off my fingers.

Well, you were close by in VA. If I had known I would have driven there to get the wood trim for free .
