RT Cat

what are the advantages of getting an RT Cat? Is there a significant effect alone or is it better in the presence of other mods (ypipe, exhaust, etc)? i guess i should just search...

not much gain with *just* the cat. It works best in conjunction with a full exhaust ( y pipe, catback) along with a more free flowing intake. If you do the Y pipe and catback, the stock cat is the bottleneck in the exhaust flow (kinda like an hourglass but not that extreme) and should be replaced so that the diameter of the exhaust piping is consistent throughout. This makes the exhaust gas velocity higher since there is less turbulence in the exhaust flow.

Since the car is jacked up and you're already there, it's a good time to install the cat but it's not necessary since you could always do it at a later time.

If you need an RT cat, I've got several in stock ready to ship out.

RT cats also make a much greater difference if your car has a lot of miles on it and your stock cat is pretty clogged up. Won't make any noticeable difference to a new, or low miles car. I will only bother getting one if I can't sell my car next spring and I go for a y-pipe. It will get a cat also at that point.

I have a catco high flow cat, is it pretty much the same idea? or should I have gone with RT? The catco is street legal as well, and the **** was pretty free flowing.
