I haven't had to fill my new max up yet but i will use 91-93 depending on what octane the phillips 66 has here, never payed attention before as my camaro was always filled with 87 and never looked at the premium rating.

i think premium in a max is like eating steak, she loves it!

but regular is still like eating a 1/2 lb. burger. Still damn tasty, and gets it done.

I feed her regular 90 % of the time.

what exactly is your before and after mpg figures when practicing your "high octane fuel driving" saving? - I am simply basing my 20% estimation of your consumption savings above on my own current safe 600+km per tank with reserve light just on?
Based on about 3-5 litres left in tank, so yeah, fuel light constantly on.
I did those tests, a few full tanks of each fuel a while ago: here's the rundown

Standard (90 octane): 450-500km per 55 litre tank
Premium (98 octane): 550-650km per 55 litre tank.

Varied on; driving style, condition of fluids, filters, etc.

Keep in mind, 98 octane is alot higher than American "premium" (91-93 Octane), and "100-150km" was loosely the absolute maximum in monitored conditions, usually I will only get about 50km extra out of a tank of premium, as cleaning filters, changing oil and driving nicely is really too much effort, despite the extra km's. My owner's manual says strictly 96 Octane or higher.
With all that said, this thread is way off topic by now.
Any more questions, do it via PM?

anyone ever experiment with filling the tank with half 87 half 93? my friend used to do that in his acura integra, he swore it gave him better gas mileage. I dont know though...
