Tint film Question?

^ Agreed, 30%-40% is only "mildly there." I had 35% on my last car and wanted darker. Went with 17% this time around. You'll be fine at night with 35% (legal limit in TN, that's why I had it) at night.

I put 50% on my car, PA tinting laws suck . But am still very happy with it over no tint for the last 3 years . I used 3M tint that was precut, and made the tinting go a lot faster. I still cant believe how perfect the tint was pre-cut .
BTW: Does anyone know were to get windshield chip protection film with 99% UV protection? And may be 80-90% VLT, so the PA copes cant tell.

These damn laws are killing me too but, In Pittburgh they really don't bother you as much. I might just go with 50% as my windows have a slight tint to them anyways.

it's not really worth getting tint that's 50% IMO because it won't really block that much heat unless you get some good tint. i have 70% tint right now which is super light and from inside you can't tell i have tint at all. i'm using a tint called v-kool. it's not dark but it blocks out as much heat as tint that's 5-15%. i really recommend that if you don't want dark tint but still want to block heat but this tint is very expensive tho. i think i've spent over 8hundred dollars tinting my car (all windows plus windshield and sunroof). i mean i had 50% on my other car before and it didn't block too much heat at all.

To answer your question 35% is perfect for what you want. Visibility is not hindered, and noticeable at night.
Frankly any tint lighter than 5% is visible to see out....even at night. Just stick to the 35% and avoid problems with the law.

no i didn't get ripped off...it's just the most expensive tint out there that i know of right now. it was $250 to tint the windshield alone but i think i could have saved a hundred or so if i got it tinted all at once. but i did it front first then rear later haha i also had to do windshield twice because my windshield cracked and had it replaced

I have a 5% window strip,20% on front 2 windows and 5% on the back. When I got pulled over recently he noticed my tint and said it was too dark( I still have my florida plates). I went and got my inspection the other day and they didnt even say anything. So I guess it just depends on the officer what he wants to do. He did note that as he was walking up I rolled all my windows down though so he could see what was going on.

Oh yeah, limo dark is illegal in Vegas but people have it all over. They usually dont pull you off and cite u for it, but they will cite u if they pull u over for something else. But I guess if they sell it at Wal-Mart then it must be legit. If not you can always ask Autozone guys or Chief.

I think if you'd like to be able to see then just go with 35% which is what i have on my front windows. just a week ago my back doors and rear had 20%. now i've went down to 2% its like looking at a black wall inside haha. but thats me, no prob here. Legal in TX but only the back doors and rear.
