Machining alloy flywheel?

Machining alloy flywheel?
I was thinking about an aftermarket flywheel, and one thought came to mind i didnt think of. Can this thing be machined? And if so, how many times? Especially with performance clutches and performance driving, almost surely it will need machining every time you change the clutch.
