help with axle replacement

2000 Max, auto tranny
I am trying to remove the pass side axle as one piece ... Is this possible??
There seems to be not enough clearance for the bearing bracket to pass out the side ...? It is hitting the front of the wishbone and power steering pump, and engine at the oil filter ...
Does the exhaust have to be lowered? To spin the bearing support down?
I thought the axle would slide right out the side ????

This section is for tools for your garage, might wanna have it moved. Are you trying to remove the axle with the mounting braket attached? I have a 4gen and since the set up should be the same...there are three bolts that hold the axle bearing to that bracket, remove those and the axle will separate from the bracket and you should be able to slide it out (in one piece). The braket should stay in place attached to the block. Good luck

Just like Maxspeed said - remove the axle from the bracket and you can get it out no problem. You might want to get the bracket back up there before re-installing the new axle.
