The fuel pump question brought some intrest to mind. What would be the best way to wire up a kill switch on a MAXIMA?

It doesn't sound to diffucult, yet I know squat right now so, um, you know were to start?

my webpage (link in sig) has directions in the how-to section for a 3rd gen; you can use those basic guidelines with a different switch

also, search www.google.com for "starter kill switch" and you'll find tons of info there

I have been thinking about doing this also. Heres what I'm planning (see attached schematic).

I am going to mount a miniature momentary contact pushbutton on the base of the emergency brake under the leather cover. The pushbutton will be in series with the coil of a new relay and be in parallel with one of the normally open contacts. I will then install another normally open contact in series with the A/T neutral switch.

Here's how it operates. Before you start the car, you turn the key to the "on" position to energize the pushbutton circuit. You then push the pushbutton to energize the relay coil. The contacts in parallel with the pushbutton closes, providing an alternate path for the current to keep the coil energized so that the pushbutton can be released. The contact in series with the neutral switch also closes, completing the circuit and allowing you to start the car.

The big advantages to this setup are that it automatically arms itself when you turn the car off and the pushbutton can be secretly pushed when you reach over to release the hand brake.
