Waterless Window Washing ???
Hey all, I in hotel management and we are trying to put together a complimentary add on to our valet service where we will be washing peoples windows for them when they valet park with us (wasn't my idea)... The thing is, using the typical water and squegee (sic?) will be too messy. So we are trying to choose a waterless method of washing them.
So my question is, does anyone know of or have an experience with a waterless window cleaning product? I know of Rain-X but thats more to make rain bead up not to actually clean the windows (and it creates a huge amount of glare which is unexceptable in southern CA where your driving into the sun most of the day) So i was wondering if there was another product that works well at actually cleaning windows (or at least making them look clean).
Any experiences, comments or ideas are more than welcome, thanx in advance guys/girls.

I don't remember what it's called, but I used to work at a place that rented out cars and we would use this stuff in a white can that foams when you spray it on a window. It's magic and doesn't run or anything, you just spray it on and it wipes off streak free and makes the window look transparent. If you really want to know what it's called (there's probably lots of window cleaners that foam like this) let me know and I can call the place and ask them.

That sounds like exactly what i'm looking for. If you could find out what it is that would be great, but if its trouble don't sweat it. I'll try some googling with that in mind and see what i come up with.

This is what i came up with so far (also rain-x makes an actual window cleaner)... Was this what you were talking about though?
"S100 Special Surfaces Cleaner is a streak-free, waterless launder that cleans pliant windshields, human face shields, visors, instruments and fairings. Wipe outside bugs, rain down spots, and route shoot instantly. Every bike should feature S100 Special Surfaces Cleaner in its saddlebag. S100 Special Special0 Special1 is protected on whole plastics, including polycarbonate, acrylics, Lexan, Lucite, Plexiglas, and fibreglass. Special2 and pass over to allow for a open, clear, anti-static rise up that repels dust. This pliant Special3 workings in seconds and foliage visors and windshields sounding pressingly unseeable."
The engrish is terrible but i think that sounds like its about what i would want.

nope that's not it, let me make a call and get back to you before the end of the day. You'll love this stuff, it's amazing. Btw, where are you in socal? I'm here in LA, just wondering. the stuff I'm talking about is not in a pump bottle, it's in an aeresol can, i'll let you know by the end the day.

It's called "sprayway glass cleaner." Here's a link to it on amazon.
http://www.amazon.com/Sprayway-Glass.../dp/B000AP585M
The college where I did my undergrad has been using this stuff for years.
I've never used invisible glass but the reviews there on Amazon say it's better than invisible glass.
Oh and the price is pretty good too.

Yes it does take more time, so if your pulling in and out hotel patrons cars you might not have this time, so good point.

Invisible Glass, made by "Stoner"... lol, what a name.
Anyways, better than any pump distribution system, it's less work, just spray and wipe with microfiber cloth. Safe on tint too. There's some drying agent, likely alcohol, so it disappears fast and won't soak your cloth.

never liked the stoner stuff, use eagle one glass cleaner. works really well and can be used in direct sunlight with no streaks. i detail cars in the summer and find that the foam has a smell and streaks if used on a hot day, just my 2 cents...

I use Stoners invisible glass spray-- no foam.

just to add my .2...make sure your employees have the windows rolled all the way (duh, but no cracks) up on cars with aftermarket tint (this is probably obvious) because it only takes a drop or two and you wouldn't want to get into any trouble after ruining someone's tint with a chemical.
