Racing: Code of Ethics

Want to get your thoughts on this. Do you confront your own kinds? What I mean is do you try to race other Maximas? I personally don't race other Maximas. In fact, I don't race any Nissan's at all out of respect. Doesn't accomplish much if I was a similar Max, or beat an older Max, Altima, Exterra, Pathfinder, 240sx etc. Here where I live I find Nissan drivers are pretty good. Not too many punks or brats.
When I race, I tend to do it against Honda, Acura, and domestics.
It is funny that little Cavaliers (Z24 or the base version), Sunfires, etc almost always want to beat you off the line. I also have had couple 'races' against FASSSST mini vans.

Here's a list of what I do/don't when racing:

- I almost never rev up the rpm before declutching
- Don't drop clutch
- Most of the time I take a long time getting into 1st
- I don't pick on old cars, old people, women (unless they ask for it)
or the good Nissan and Toyota folks

- I do drive like a pro race car driver, safely and ready to win. My
friends always say that they trust my driving, whether I am driving
civilized style, or Mario Andretti
- I do tend to get competitive if is DuMass tick me off. One time
when I had my 85 Corolla GTS I drove 15 minutes across town to
chase someone across town. Why? He gave me the high beem and go
my rpm going. Kids, don't do this!

Blah Blah. I spend a lot of time here. I do think the Acura TLS CLS forums are faster. BUT, our Maximas are more sporty. Love to hear what other Max Fans have to say. Soon I will give back my beloved 99SE. I had tons of compliments regarding the sleek look, acceleration, smoothness, room for 5, quietness, etc. I ordered a 2002 speed but it hasn't arrived yet. If things go the way it should I will have one in the garage in the next 2-3 weeks. I have only seen a couple on the road so it would be a JOY to to be one of the first 6 speed owner. Cost will be $100 CDN more a month for the lease, but it can be justified cuz I am cutting costs elsewhere.

I am rambling now aren't I?

thats what my friend does....his rule is "if you pass me you're challenging me"

but yeah I race anyone! no racing ethics for me....cars, trucks, bikes, bicycle riders, joggers and speed walkers! I even smoked a baby in a stroller once, mind you it was one of those "sporty" ones with the 3 wheels!

nope, I take them all the way off the line, I DON'T GIVE THEM A CHANCE...cause sometimes the speed walkers keep up for a second or two, when they drink their Powerade, but after 1st gear its all over!

I race anyone. I actually love racing other Maximas, gives me a chance to see how mine compares to others. I've only raced three and won against all three. I think they were all autos though. I've also raced 240s, its never even close.
Also, I don't rev at people. Being stock, the engine is too damn quiet.

you have a point there.
I don't like to reace other maximas though.
I like to keep my friends friends, and enemies as compititions.
hehe

Yea.. i guess they are better then Hondas...
^^ I like the celicas and the supra only though
Others can kiss my asian ***.
I just get exicited when I see other souped up maximas
It's RARE!~!!!! instead of those hondas you see EVERYDAY no matter where you go.

If you got altezzas its on

or if any honda loooking at me, reving, flashing lights ,tailgating, trying to be cool but its packed out with like 5 heads
its over, they should have known better. Ive raced a couple of maxes just for fun and afterwards we stopped and talked and looked at each others cars. and those three wheeled strollers arent anything wait till a little kid gives you the "look" in one of those bike trailers things (hes getting dusted)

yeah I'm the same with the alteazza thing, I can spot them a mile away its like a fighter jet zeroing in on its target....most of the time its a slow *** Civic DX or something, but one time I got caught, damn altezzas were attached to a turbo Integ....I caught up to him, paced him, reved it and that was all she wrote...I watched his altezzas for the next couple seconds!

I don't race other Maximas. I respect anyone who has a Maxima. I hate Hondas and I always mess with Hondas. Toyota has nothing for a Maxima to go up against unless it is a Celica GTS.

No way... my best race was with a Maxima. Coming home from school and I had my neon on. A guy pulls onto the highway. Dressed in a business suit and passenger had a suit on too. Had another suit on a hanger hanging in the rear window.

Looked over at me and my neon and pulled ahead. We went at it all the way to my house. Nobody really won. I would pull ahead, then he would. I neared my exit and flashed my hazards. He stuck his hand out the window and gave me the thumbs up. I returned the gesture.

Nobody before or after has done that.
