How does the CAI effect low-end torque on Autos???

I guess the 5th gen auto guys have the same problem with the pop chargers with the loss of intake velocity but I am curious to know if the CAI has a different effect that the pop. Looking for facts, not a drawn out debate. Thanks.

And you're definitly auto right? If so, thats good to hear. Do you feel the car pulls hard throughout the RPM's?

Yup, I'm auto. And as far as I know the VE auto's are pretty well known for their excessive lack of low-end torque. It pulls really hard all the way through the RPM range. It's most noticeable after the 1-2 shift all the way to redline...I mean it pulls like crazy!

I have to back him up on that one. I have the VE auto with PR CAI and I have the same problem/solution. no torque off the line, but after about 3500rpm, it changes lobes on the VTC and it pulls like mad till you shut down, through all the shifts.

I felt a marked difference between the JWT Pop charger that I had at first. And that sound is just mean!

Dana, are you planning to get CAI? I heard someone mentioned that Steve's car became faster after he stripped it, is that true?

I thought about it. I don't know if its really worth it though because my car does pull hard. Especially now that I have changed my air filter and being that its cold out.

Not fast enough. He's not going to agree with me but my stock Max still pulls on him.

Even with the CAI you will still lose some low end power. I say it's not worth it. Living in a big city I need to be quick off the line, especially when I'm in the right lane of a 3-4 lane road and need to take off faster than others in order to make a left turn on the next light
We'll see how Steve likes his 6-speed. I hope he's not gonna stall every time he shifts
