I ran a 14.6 on a blown motor mount and a slipping clutch. My goal is to hit the 13's on no juice or boost. Mods going in right now is ACT clutch, Quaife differential, poly motor mounts and possibly the 5 pound Unorthodox Racing flywheel it should get closer. I'm expecting low 14s. A big key would be getting that 5th generation intake manifold to function. That will be my next project and should definately push it into the 13s.

14.2 with an automagic? That's one heck of a NA automagic. Hm...too bad the VB doesn't help much for the rest of us.

The reason I pulled the mods off was becuase Im done playing with the car. Im having more fun with the Spirit R/T, and its a heck of alot cheaper to make more power with it. (ive spent $200 in mods on it and made almost 260 whp with it). Its also not my daily driver.
And, I never had the desire to go back to the track since I ran last time. I figured the car was just about tapped out at that point and more track days would merely be abusive.
Yes, 14.38 was my best time. But, I did run about 5 or 6 runs that were 14.5's or less. My worst time of the day was a 14.65.

It doesnt use the K-car 2.2L, but it is the same displacement and same basic block. After that, its quite different.
As yopu noted, bone stock they were rated at 224 crank hp. But, most agree they made actually quite a bit more than that as they ran 0-60 in 5.8 seconds right from the factory. My father also has a Spirit R/T and his dynoed at 210 wheel hp bone stock. Thats probably 245-250 crank hp.
