Rank best looking maxima by generation
#82
4th - really the only good looking maxima, all others are too boxy or too big
7th - Looks decent...several steps up from the 6th gen
5th - tried to be a 4th gen, gayest looking tail lights ever
6th - Way too big, don't have a dock to put it in
3rd - Looks like a toyota
1,2 - Old as crap and looks that way

I hated the 5th gen when it first came out... I was disgusted! lol.... but after seeing it and seeing it and what not, i started liking it. Its a sweet piece of car for realz. Ha the 6th gen is growing on me now

#1) 3rd gen will always be the original "4DSC". It made the Maxima a car to want. It will always be number one.
#2) 5th gen. VQ power and smooth lines, a definite improvement over the 4th gen.
#3) 4th gen. A little too "Camry looking". Still nice enough to be #3
#4) 1st gen. Yes, it's a box, but it is the only rear wheel drive Maxima
#5) 2nd gen. Box, but it led the way to the 3rd gen.
no offense to the newer gens, but to me they are just too egg-shaped

and my 4th gen will rape any camry - BEOTCH

That goes without saying, Performance wise there is no comparison from Maxima to Camry, but this is an opinion on appearance only. And this is just mine, it means nothing. Given a choice between a Maxima and a Camry, I would gladly take any gen Maxima but I would feel embarrassed to drive a Camry.

Honestly, I own my car because of the way it drives, not necessarily how good it looks. The best looking maximas are late model 4th gen. se's imo...followed by a tie with 6th and 3rd gens. The 5th gen. to me looks unbalanced and not very streamlined.

97-99 4th gens (once again, I may biased on this one)
7th gen looks good, although the headlights are weird.
95-96 4th gens (I think they're ugly compared to the later models)
3rd gens (I like the boxy look)
6th gen
5th gen
1st/2nd gen (I don't like the TOO boxy look. If you 3d model the car and the poly-count is <100, keep going.)

I think the only thing a Camry ever had over a Maxima is the two door model. I think the Camry compares more to the Altima than the Maxima.

I don't ever think of cars in the terms of what their value is (that should be obvious by the amount I have sunk into mine I should think) I see them with a love of the car not the love of money. And I don't feel it from a Camry.

1.) 7th Gen
2.) 6th Gen
3.) 5th Gen
4.) 4th Gen
5.) 3rd Gen and so forth
In my opinion, anything before the 5th Gen looks very dated<----OLD.
I had a tough time between the 5.5 Gen and the 6th Gen. The 5.5 Gen especially modded is a very nice looking car that does not look dated/passe. Fine but aggressive lines from front to back but...I love the more rounded, modern, and very sporty (with the right add-ons) look of the 6th Gen Maxima.
Clearly Lexus-amongst many other manufactures have gone this route on their "newer" cars as well. The reason, they just plain look more refined and polished. American cars for the most part remain blockish to save money.
But hey, it's all about preferences. Enjoy whatever you have beit 1st through 6th. It's all good (afterall it's a Maxima)! Great bang for the buck$
Edit: I did recently see a very modded 5th Gen that I would trade my car for in a heartbeat. It was a absolute beauty. Can someone post pictures of 6th, 5th, 4th, and 3rd Maxima's together on side shots to give us a side by side comparison. That would be cool.
Taste great, less filling...

Plus I have never met a camery that would keep up with my stock max. I would never compare one of the newer ones cause thats just not fair. but same year or older one's and a couple newer ones. easily.
Plus my buddys 93 XLE V6 is easily smoked by my max

It almost seems like Nissan changes the COMPLETE look of the car every 3 or so gens... Just take a look at gens 1-3... They look alike... but look nothing alike to the 4-6 gens... yet the 4th-5th gens look simalar and the 6th looks like the 7th gen a little... This means that the 8th gen max in like 2010-11 or so will have a completly different look... Coupe anyone?
