I'm thinking of buying a 2001 Maxima from 'Star Nissan' in Flushing(Queens). Anyone have any good or bad experiences with this shop? Any input is appreciated.

My sister-in-law leased a Quest from them.

Average service. Nothing outstanding.

I didn't get my car from there. But I took my car there for service. And they SUCK! If you buy the car from them... Don't take it there to get serviced. They ripped me off. My alternator was dying. They charged me for belt adjustment. After I told them my alternator was smoking and making noises. They adjusted the belt and no smoke. But still noise. They told me it was fine. Few months later my alternator catches fire and I had to get the car towed to Koeppel Nissan in Jackson Heights. They fixed everything under warranty. Judging by their repair service. I would think Koeppel would give you better service while buying. I got my car in LI though.

I was at Star Nissan last week and was not impressed

with what I saw. Their new location is better than their old one but that's about it. I purchased my car from Koeppel and always used them for service with no problems. Anytime my car was in service if there was something to be replaced under warranty they would do it without asking and without charging.

queens locale

Zumble and DavidL7--nice to see that there are people around where I live--well, since I guess we have been on the boards for this long, if you guys are ever in the neighborhood and want to chill out--drop me a line--I am only a few blocks from Koeppel Nissan.

Koeppel's service is pretty decent the few times I took it there, but I have to say I almost bought a 96 Max from Star 5 years ago, and luckily I didn't...they are rip offs I have heard and one of my friends just got ripped off paying almost 16K for his sentra GXE (2K--not whole lot of colors to choose from either--last week)--

can't seem to trust the people in that place...

The service is okay

I took my Max there to get serviced for the 60k tune up and it was okay, nothing special.

My folks bought both the Max and my dad's Pathfinder there while they were still at the old location. I've had no problems with them.

i guess it depends.
i bought my car from Koeppel, and when it didn't start and got towed in, they insisted charging me 1hr labor for trouble shooting even though they didn't know the problem and the car started by itself the next day.
