Knew it was FWD when bought but hate the torque steer. 290 HP is too much for FWD. I love the car but not crazy about FWD...

been with my 4th gen for a few months now. i knew the maxima's turning radius was a bit larger than other cars but it wasn't really a big deal...until school started.
parking in the structure sucks because everything is so tight. i always have to adjust (unless i'm lucky enough to find 2 or 3 open stalls that are parallel) and i keep jumping the curb on my rear right wheel x.x staying in my lane while turning a corner is impossible without doing that

It pisses me the **** off when I'm trying to put on new coilovers and all the bottom bolts for the struts are rusted to **** cause of new england weather and I go to buy new bolts at autozone but they are too big so now I have to go to a dealership to get the EXACT bolt to match, which has delayed my install about 2 days now.

I have a 4th gen with 27,000 miles on it, and the two things that bother me are the torque steer, and the understeer. Having come from driving a 154 hp P10 for ~100,000 miles the change in handling is very noticable. The family like the quietness though.

Buyers beware, local pick up recommended. Slow to ship out items already paid for.

I fix most things I'm not happy with on the car (wheel gap, front seats don't hold you in enough)...
things i haven't/ can't
TURNING RADIUS (WORST IVE EVER DRIVEN...)
transmission grinding regularly into certain gears (haven't gotten there yet.)
oil consumption!
stiff ride with aftermarket springs/struts (no suspension travel)

I hate that it's an automatic, but that's my fault for getting an auto
I hate that it burns through CV joints, but again, kind of my fault, for driving like a crazy-***.
And yeah, turning radius! It's my first car that can't do a U-turn in a T intersection.

The thing that pisses me off on my 2000 Nissan Maxima SE.
1. Is I can't make a u turn if my dang life depends on it!
2. If I go through a car wash and as I'm leaving the first turn I make water comes rushing in next to the passengers rear window.

I'm not a fan of the BOSE at all, it does give me an excuse to rip the entire sound system out and put something better in though
I'd prefer RWD, but I don't floor it in first to avoid the torque steer (thats what second is for)
The shifter is WAY to tall, its not so bad driving it, but getting into another car is when I notice how ridiculously long it is
The seats are eh, I'd prefer some nice racing bucket seats
No HIDs at the moment (2001 AE), that can be fixed though
My biggest complaint about it at the moment is that they put the O2 sensor that has to be replaced in the worst spot ever and the fact that I don't have the money to mod the hell out of it right now

This isn't something stock but something that I just ran into. So I'm installing the apexi WS2 cat back exhuast on my max. Stock exhaust was a bitcchhhhhhh to get off cause of the rust nuts and bolts. So after 2 hours I finally get that off. So I go to connect one of the pipes to that small 3 inch pipe and I reallize the new apexi pipe has a hole in it for the o2 sensor. So now I have to cut off the old bolts on that small 3 inch pipe that houses the o2 sensor which connects to the cat which will prolly take me another 45 mins..... not really something I had about my max... just had to vent haha. CANNOT wait to finally get the new exhaust on. Oh and also I have to buy a new o2 sensor cause the old one is rusted into that 3 inch pipe

I would like to point out how much of a pain in the *** it is to replace the shifter bushing under the hood with the es one. I wrangled with that damn thing for over an hour to get the new one to slip in. It took my girlfriend coming home at just the right moment to save me. I was so close to stabbing the bushing with a screw driver. I told my girlfriend to help me with this one *&%&*@# thing and she said well can I go pee first, to which I said no. All it took was for me to hold the sides of the bushing and for her to simply squeeze the middle with a channel lock. Of course it slips right in.
