New '08 SEs for $19,990 in Atlanta

For those who might like to move to a later year Maxima, but hesitate to pay big bucks, and aren't yet mesmerized by the '09;

Nissan South (two large lots south of Atlanta) is advertising four brand new '08 Maxima SEs for $19,990 each. I would imagine many Nissan dealers can deal somewhere near this price, and all dealers will be clearing out their '08 Maximas when the '09s begin arriving in the next month or so.

I realize many don't like the 6th gen styling, but the '08 Maxima is a rather polished, problem-free vehicle with lots of room; great for families.

Wow, thats a pretty good deal. Considering there all going for like 25-29-ish

I did notice a lot of dealers have been marking down cars as of late due to gas price pain... For instance. I was talking to a dude that bought a brand new Dodge Ram, and he said it was going for 44K before gas spiked and the dealership put it down to 27K because no one was buying them...

I should of told him the truth and said... its because no one buys dodge trucks... lol

B I G C O R R E C T I O N !

I took today's newspaper to my local Nissan dealer (Nissan South), and asked him how he was able to sell '08 Maximas so far below invoice. He looked at the article, then pointed to some fine print at the bottom (which my old eyes couldn't read). He said the fine print read 'with $2,000 down.' That would mean the price was really $21,990.

I told him I felt the ad was misleading, and not 'customer-friendly'. He agreed, but said selling cars in today's economy has become very difficult, and their ad department is using some things they haven't used in the past. I told him I was disappointed in him. He said he was sorry they had offended a long-time customer.

But that misleading ad means the deal, although still good, is not the 'door-busting' price I thought it was.

I apologize for the misleading info, and hope it did not lead any ORG member to beat up his dealer in anger.

It may now be time to lock this misguided thread.
