all maintenance is required..

but i don't think anything is that major that you can't do yourself..

get a FSM or a Haynes manual and start getting intouch with your car..

Spark Plugs
Oil Filter
Fuel Filter
Tranny Fluid - take it to a shop.. dont' let the dealer rip you
Belts
Coolant Fluid
Brake Fluid - if needed
Brakes - if needed

all these stuff you should be constantly watching yoruself.. not waiting for intervals to change stuff.. you should be constantly looking around .. listening for anything different and changing them yourself.. read those FAQ's Clee setup and the Maintenance Bill setup in the 4th Gen forum.. believe it or not.. they are very informative

One thing I would highly recommend is getting the trans "flushed".
If you only drain and refill ..you get only about 3 to 4 quarts of fresh trans fluid in. A trans flush machine pumps all of the old fluid out and replaces it with fresh fluid, usually about 12 quarts. In MHO this is the best defense against trans failure.....If you want more info go to tustinnissan.com and check out the link to a Los Angeles Times article on this, its on our website on the "service dept" page. Also if you need any parts to do the 90k service yourself, call us and we will give you the maxima.org discount
Cheers,
