It still amazes me that people with maximas really go out and street race???!!

After reading couple posts from this general forum i was amazed that people actually "race" this car or challenge others in their Maxes. Im pretty sure im the fastest guy on the road when i commute or get groceries, but i dont go out looking for other samiliarly powered cars and "RACE"??!! I go on and arrange mountain drives in the socal area with my other more powerful sports cars, and especially not my 4 door family car maxima. Of course some of you might remember, i brought my Max once and really were impressed with how it did against M3s, A4s and S4s. But for me the maxima is really a powerful grocery getter from how its marketed and the uninspiring conservative shell. No matter if its faster and handles better than most BMWs and audis that i come across but in the back of my head i still think it looks strange among those cars, even though i was beating the **** out of them and really enjoying it.
So, when i see all these posts about racing each other and other makes on this board, surprised is the least i can say. Im couple years away from 30, but am i really getting old??!! Or i just dont meet people on the streets that wants to run with me. So, please those of you in SoCal, please respond and post if u feel like to have some friendly competition.......or "RACE" as some of you out it.

I would love to race but im NOT about Street Racing. I DO care for others on the road.

I do all my racing @ the track. If you care to do it there, I am more then willing to part. BTW-I am for from being stock.

ahhhh, well...can you believe people in CIVICS race other people? Those care are slower! I tend to just go watch people race, but I do my fare share of playing with folks in safe road conditions. I go to the track, but not in my maxima; it's fun to watch at the track, but pulling high 14's is not exactly exciting.

He said SoCal not So Joisey Synk.

Marketing is just that, Marketing. This weekend, there was a Jeep Grand Cherokee running 12's!! Far from off road.

Yup, you are getting old. It's a thing called reponsibility. Although I still get on it sometimes going faster than i should. Got nailed for 98 cruising with a BMW on the interstate. Cop was real nice about it. The Bimmer got nailed too so I don't feel so bad. Anyway, I hear lots of talk about drag racing, but never anything about autocrossing. Do any of you Maxima guys do this or is it only the BMW, Porsche and Miata crowd ?

If I could find a good BMW for 15K that can run low 14s then I would not have a maxima right now... there is also value to the fact that nobody thinks maximas are fast... when you win against a 3000GT its so fun
