Maximas in the North

Has anyone had their Max undercoated before winter? With all the snow, sleet, slush, sand, salt, ice and snow is undercoating really recommended? My car is a 2k1. With new cars is there any kind of protection or is undercoating recommended?

I have a cattman ss y-pipe on. I realize it is SS and doesn't rust but still wanted to spray with something for extra protection in winter. Any ideas of what I can use that would be safe and add extra protection?

you can buy underbody paint in an spray can from most any car parts store (R&S, Pep Boys, whatever) id use that.......but im not sure about spraying the flex hose part of the Y pipe....im not sure if by spraying it you will loose your flexability, which would be bad....if someone else knows more about this.....help out phatguy here....

if not you can go to a shop and ask about spraying flexpipe....

I have a few rust spots on the axle that I am going to cover with paint. I know this isn't the best way to deal with it but it will work for now.

I know that some of the NJ carwashes do underbody coating. Im just not sure if this is exactly the same type of deal you are talkin about. Under body coating is a great idea for NE winters though.

I don't have any undercoating on my car.
During the winter, I will take it to the car wash occassionally and make sure they wash the under body.

You want to spray your ss y-pipe?? If so, don't bother. I live on the cape (salt air) and in Ma. (snow ,salt sand etc.) My ss stuff is holding up perfect. However there is a few problem areas on the under body that need some attention!

$750 is expensive for that package .. I think I got mine for about $600 @ the dealer .... but honestly if I had 2 do it again .. I'd save it ....

Phatguy ... try Ziebart ... they actually have the best undercoating b/c they actually spray a huge layer of black gunk under the car ... the only problem is .. you have all this black gunk under your car ... & every year you have to go back and spend anothter $50 - 200 to get it reapplied b/c it is oil .. but oil is the only thing to prevent rust ...
