tinted taillights quick question (involving the Law)
Hey guys quick question I recently received a ticket for tinted taillights on my 2003 max. I went to go pay for the fine online and it will not allow me. The ticket payment is due on wed. I was wondering how I would get around this, it seems Like i will have to strip the paint off of them, which i do not want to.
u should put on the stock tails, i think they look perfect with the polished titanium color but since ur going for the blacked out theme, u should just tint them lighter, my tails were just as dark as yours but i got pulled over alot so i went lighter.

BTW you max is looking good.!!!
You're asking to be pulled over with them that dark.
And FWIW, they're too dark anyway, especially with your light colored car.
The reason you just can't pay the fine is because it's most likely a fix-it ticket. Remove the tint, then have an officer sign your ticket off. Then pay the small fine.

Quick fix: borrow tails from someone local.
CA law is something like, must reflect red from 200ft. I dunno what current law is, over there. Better check the books, maybe you might actually win if u can get them to reflect. Clear tails 10 years ago were illegal cuz they'd reflect, but not red.

edit add: infact, you might be able to add an additional set of reflectors, and then boost your brake light brightness. Brake lights must be visible something like 1000ft. Again, check your local laws.

2nd pic LOOKS TERRIBLE, IMO......
anyhoo.........Here in MD, cops issue repair orders for tail lights that are not in spec with so called driving regulation.....what ive learned, is GET YOUR STATE TROOPER FRIENDS to sign off on repair orders, and take EVERY TRAFFIC ticket to court, no matter how big or small
Its not like I drive around like speed racer, i am def targeted The sad part is when they aproach the max holdng on to the gun, then yell to lower the rear window. Im just a normal college Guy with Skateboards and sand in the backseat lol....But yes I am learning that making a car look unique def gets you in trouble. Nex car will be transparent. just susp and wheels and of course bolt-ons haha
I been wanting to do the blacked out tail lamp thing as my max is black but NOT if I'm going to get heat from the law. Does anyone here know the law in Texas? I see all sorts of cars doing the black out thing here....
I think I might go with these instead but I don't know if they include the bulb. They are a clear SE style.
