1 HP power increase was from bored out headers, not aftermarket headers.

Llfe, do search man, the only way you can get headers is if you import them from new zealand. The HP increases are simalar to a Y-Pipe's.

Ya, look at my sig.

Mechanic, I was the guy who imported the headers, I did a base line dyno with a oem Y-Pipe{stock} and then I dynoed with the headers. The largest gain I got in the power band was about 9 HP and 10 TQ.
Donintexas, bored out his stock headers and got a 1HP gain, you are probably thinking of that. I might being doing another dyno tomarrow if I get a chance.

Most exhaust fabricators with any confidence in their skills should be able to make a set. But the results vs cost/time will depress if running N/A.

Yeah, if you want to buy sight unseen from thousands of miles away.

I only meant I'm sure plenty of US workshops could do the same work.

Ethan, dont forget, your gain was also because the Y-pipe was replaced WITH the headers.. that only could have given you what you got. :gotm:

Don't worry, I did not forget..

BTW I did have 2 exaust leaks on my header dyno, so I still wonder how much I really gained? I guess I will never know..

other cars get more HP with a header mod. Another thread said 30-40hp for an eclipse w/headers. Guess the max's headers are not that restrictive.

With Ethan's PPC Headers, I took into the fact that his car had been sitting since he got his I30, and was in need of a tune-up. I didn't expect much from his header dyno then. Just like when I installed my ECU, I saw major gains, but I didn't see as much as when I did my tune-up. Gains for the headers on a NA Maxima should be similar to that of a y-pipe with an advantage of 1-2 hp for the headers on the top end. When doing forced induction, however, the gains are more pronounced as exhaust gases flow at a higher rate. Basically, if you plan on doing a supercharger or nitrous, the headers will give you the optimum gain.

P.S. Ethan, be ready to import some more headers for me coming up in the near future!!!

About $650 shipped 3 day Fedex international express mail. Theres a good chance I will be removing all my mods in the following days so keep an eye out. I may put my headers on ebay though, I am not sure yet.

I think for some of us with the s/c could get some nice results with those headers. They include the y pipe right? So if you do all that and get 10 and should have the rest of the exhaust for max flow they should be pretty good. mmmmmmmmm...s/c those headers custom b pipe and muffler i bet it would be 20hp right there. Man with the 80 i gained already plus that 20 plus the 60 im gonna get with the intercoller smaller pulley and ecu, crankshaft,fuel....o it's gonna be nice.

By the way i'm taking donations now.
