Alright, long story short my car has taken a f00king beating over the years on the exterior. Now, I've finally managed to get in to a position where I can have ALL of the body damaged fixed for a reasonable price at a good shop.

SO, the shop says it'll take about 2 weeks, which is very reasonable considering the work needed to be done. So I order my bodykit (JDub, or so I thought) on Fleabay, shipping from NYC, which means I will get it hella quick and be able to get everything done fast.

So the shop calls and says, "Make sure you get it asap, we're ready to install and waiting on it". AWESOME! So I call the fleabay f*cker as ask if I can drive up and pick it up.

The he tells me their office is in NYC, shipping from Cali. 1 week + lead time. FAWK.

So now we're at 3 weeks. THEN time to get the rental. Damn these things are expensive. But it'll do, it'll all be worth it. I call the Fleabay guy and confirm the sale. The he tells me it's the JDub FRONT ONLY, NOT THE FULL KIT.

WTF?!?!?!

So now my car is in the shop, sans kit, waiting for SOME type of ground effects, and I might have to settle for a damn AE kit instead of JDub because no one effing has it in stock.

Shipped that will be more than $900 at which point in time it'd be cheaper to leave the car in the shop for the week.

Lessons for the rest of the n00bs here.

1. Fleabay SUCKS. Nothing ever gets shipped on time and it's usually not the right part.
2. NEVER order parts and put your car in the shop waiting on the parts. ESPECIALLY if you're expecting something shipped from ebay on schedule.
2a. ALWAYS get the parts in-hand and confirm they're for the right application before you take them to a shop to get put on your car.

I'm just ordering the AE stillen kit. No fender flare, no JDub. I'll chalk this one up to some protective force looking over me.

 

no fender flare no fun. no way you can wait to get a full kit? or piece together a kit from other pieces?

 

I'm saving myself about a g-note by just going with the AE, I'll just put this towards other stuff instead. We're talking SERIOUS wait time to get the kit and have it installed.

I'm really sorry that it didn't work out for my body kit, but I understand all of the issue. At the last minute I was able to find a way to ship the body kit for a reasonable price to the East coast in USA ( Fedex Freight 195$ US ). If you are still interested in my kit, I would be interested in making a trade kit for kit, if there is a difference I'm willing to put some money down to help a bit, since I'll be buying an AE kit from stillen anyway.

If anyone is interested in my Jdub complete body kit ( never installed ) it is up for sale at 795$ US including shipping to the east coast, honestly I dont think anybody will be able to beat that unless someone steal it. Lol

I can take a trade for a brand new AE Stillen kit.

I've had plenty of good experiences, but I've also had the bad, one time I got bad feedback when I submitted a paypal claim on the 44th day for an item that was supposed to be in stock but the place ran out, they gave me such a ****ing run-around telling me so many times it's been shipped call back later I can dig up the tracking #. It was a $500 clutch, I wasn't about to let it go over the paypal deadline, and worst thing about that bad feedback is it was something I ordered for a freind as a favor. But that was the only time out of close to a hundred I've had any sort of problem or complaint.

 

Yeah, it's a shame. I have gotten PLENTY of things from fleabay and had nothing but great success. This is one of a few times I got burninated.

The AE kit has been ordered and is going to the shop. The money will be placed potentially in headers / y-pipe, as well as the components I need for my LED tails. Wheels will come this spring
