Muffler questions

So I'm in a dilema. Need a new muffler soon. As most know I got Cattman headers and a b-pipe so basically 2.5" from headers all the way to the stock axle back. I do not want a loud **** muffler as I've heard it can get really loud with headers.

Now my question, can a 2.5" pipe be made and adapted to the stock muffler possibly? I'm really happy with the stock muffler sound but don't want to have the restrictiveness of the stock axle back piping.

Any input on this?

Its going to get louder but since you dont want it that loud..purchase a Sp2 or Cattman cat-back, you will be alright..

The axle back isnt that restrictive...sure a mandrel bent system is better, but there will be no hp gains...

Why moved? It's a general question that could be answered or beneficial to all Max owners. TO be honest I usually don't find the 5th gen section that helpful.

Then I'll move it to the general section. Definitely didn't belong in All motor.

IMO any straight piping with any aftermarket axleback will be loud on a maxima... best thing is to do 2.5 piping and stock axleback, no HP gain or loss, no power loss

Cool. Was worried about restrictions so I'll just grab another OEM muffler. I love the sound with the OEM Axle back. Just need some nice tips for when I put the rest of the Stillen kit on.
