Detect Speed Traps with Trapster

I just read about this new mobile application in Motor Trend (COTY issue) and then looked it up.

Trapster is a web application that allows a user community to report speed traps from their mobile phone and alert other drivers in the area. If you have smartphone/pda (iphone, blackberry, etc.) or a navi device it will work for you.

Check it out at www.Trapster.com

Anyone else use this?

I tried it but my iphone doesn't have gps, so it's basically worthless...Plus on a road trip, people would have to keep this app up and running and have nothing else open. I wouldn't rely on it anyway. I'm sure a couple useful ones are on there, but it's still gonna miss the majority of the speedtraps.

I think it's a good idea and all, but seems kind of dangerous to be fiddling with your phone while driving just to report a cop.
