Alright so lets make a list and our defenses to the haters and trolls out there that don't know **** about cars or any facts. This is mostly from youtube.com and people in life that are just haters.


1. Your car is slowwww.
2. It is a family sedan.
3. LOL. Like your car has 200hp, even if it did it is still heavy and slow.
4. It is not sports sedan. LMAO. Are you kidding me? It is a grandma car.
5. wow, You put suspension in your maxima? Are you kidding me. So ghay
6. Why are you putting rims on a Maxima? dude, it is a Maxima!
7. pssh you can only chip 2nd? I can chirp 4th in my Trans-Am!.

I hate this so much because people don't have a clue on how responsive and quick our cars are for a full size "family" sedan. It is also the lightest Family sedan out there on the road clocking in at 3000 lbs and that is pretty good for the luxury options. I mean sure it is not a sport coupe but for the time and for the size this car has *****. And it has a lot more ***** then almost anything in it's class in terms of responsiveness and overall power. I wreck Grand prix allll day. IT is so sad how slow those are. Don't even get me LAWLING over Foxbody mustangs that sound faster then then are.

Anyway, What are some of the stupid things people say that **** you off and what are your defenses?

I mean to think anyone with a 1.6 4 cly or a 2.0 turbo calling us slow is asinine. I mean obv a Turbo will be faster, It is sooo stupid. I mostly call my car quick and sometimes I say it is fast to non-car enthusiasts. Overall for 200HP it is a pretty fast car imho. It really is not just 200HP tho. It is the smoothness and quickness of our engines as well as other factors that come into play.

Sometimes I just want to run these people's feet over @ 140mph and say FAST ENOUGH! lol

my friend actually said that my max was slow. i saw him on the road one day in his mom's 2005 bmw x5. at about 40 mph he did the 3 honks; i was several car lengths ahead when i hit around 100mph and than I slowed down to go the speed limit. he actually said "if we kept going i would have won"

I was 25 and single when I bought my first Max, an '87. I caught seven different types of hell from the guys I worked with. But after running side by side with one of their Camaro's at 130 MPH, I had plenty of respect. Now at 36 and on my third Max, I think everybody just accepts the fact I like my Maxima's. Nobody I hang with makes jokes, guess we're all too old for that crap these days. I actually catch more crap for my Altima, the neighbors have dubbed it "the family truckster".

I just HATE it when you see a 95 civic with a gaudy kit and a huge wing and graphics and dual exhaust. These kids think their hon-duh's make 400hp. This idiot down the street tried to race my boy in his T/A.... who one?? the T/A....... honda kid said,"if my nitrous was working I'd have beat ya"

I really haven't heard much of that, at least around here. I can't even remember the last time a ricer with huge wing and fart tip even reved on me. When I had my Accord they did it all the time.

Anyone who has been in my car has been impressed not only with the acceleration but also how nice the interior is.

oh, I have people **** me with allllll the time. They see my exhaust and HIDs and they rev up and wanna race. 90% of the time these are cars that I can beat and are of no challenge and worth getting pulled over or worse. Most of them are Hondas and Pontiac. And I mean Grand Prixs not anything with real *****.

I killed a Gt2 when he was tailing me back in April.

Also about a month ago, a European car, Not exactly sure if it was a Volks or an Audi, but he was tailing me like a foot away from my bumper for a good 5-8 mins down a highway. I brake checked his *** a few times and he slowed down then I revved up and slammed it in 3rd and went about 115 then I slowed down only for him to catch up and tail me again. So I was like. ok, this guy wants to **** with me. Ight. So I took the next exit like Mario andretti and he continued to follow, Now if I was with my boys I would stop the car and get out and be like you guys got beef you want to cause ****. Lets go! I will **** you guys up. However I was by myself and I don't know what was in the other car so I did a little chasing game for a few for miles turned around at a gas station and chirped 2nd on the way out and he was gone. lol. I kinda felt like a puss but hey, The guy was riding me for a serious 15mins, he could of met business when I was late for work. haha

I don't get alot of bad responses from the import GURUS but forcept from the guys that I work with they say It's just a MAX I have one too and It's pretty fast but not as fast as my 5.0 mustang fox body style. I told him maximas are pretty fast and they can hang around with the 5.0's and some cases they will beat the 5.0's stock vs stock and if you moddify them right they will kill the 5.0's like mardi did. I tell them It really depends on the driver and the mods you have. I have also heard theses guys talking about how a t/a will give the max no chance because the t/a has a v8I just felt sorry for the dude and gave him his moment in feeling great. I was going to go on youtube and show him how the 98 max vs SS camero beated him and had a 12.3 pass for the day. I also wanted to show him the 03 max vs T/A and it just destroyed It but I said who cares. I know that our MAXS are really underestimated.

I haven't heard any negative comments yet. A few horsepower conversations about who's car has more, but that's it. Who really cares...they are awesome cars.

"nice grocery getter!" i let him know that i could beat his short bed ram w, a 5.9 tho. he didnt believe me. i took him to a straightaway in town and showed him how absolutely wrong he was. 02 max =only mod is an HKS axleback cuz my stock one rusted through from all of the sand salt and snow here in mass.

people used to talk so much crap about my 3rd gen cuz the motor was noisy from the vtc startin to act up. and these were other nissan owners 92'ser z31 Turbo and everytime they come up on me on the street and mess around I always seem to shut em down but everytime they come up with excuses that they missed second. which I think is worse cuz now they acknowledge they cant drive the car they owned for 5 years.. sad

Loved the max and love the new subaru, but I'm realistic. Neither of them are world-beaters in any performance category. They're good for what i want to do with them, and that's all that matters to me. If someone wants to think they're faster or better-handling, let em. Why does it matter to me? I don't need to prove anything to people I don't know......

If it makes you feel good to think your car is faster than mine, hey...have at it. Feel good about yourself. Ignorance is bliss.

also, all of my friends and relatives would say things like "nice car" or "Maximas are nice" when they saw or heard about my car. I don't think anyone ever came up to me and talked **** about the maxima, that I recall.
