What's a Y-Pipe?
#2
Parapheneilia. (sp?)
Its the part of the exhaust that connects the 2 manifolds together (into 1 pipe) and runs all the way down to the front of the cat. It looks more in terms of a "F" rather then a "Y".
What...Andy couldnt explain this?

scratch all the y pipe talk.. the y pipe actually looks like an capitol "F" turned on it's side.. so it looks like l_l___ the "l" are pipe that join the exhaust manifold.. (the very first pipees wher the exhaust go into).. then it goes down the "l" then to the "_" then all the way out through the exhaust and out your tail pipe.. the y-pipe jus gets rid of a few cats.. resulting in better flow..think of cats like cotton ***** stuck in a straw.. take those out and it's easier to push or pull air through the straw..

How I explained it to my GF:
me: I got a new y-pipe for my car
gf: what is that, it better not make your car louder
me: it makes my car faster and louder
gf: oh, how nice
me: yup and it has "bees in a can"
gf: how do they help
me: they don't they are annoying
gf: then why did you buy the bees
me: they were free
........... on and on....
to conclude: it replaces a part of the exhaust with a larger smoother less restrictive tube.
