Has anyones elses ashtray 4th gen. gotten difficult to open, usually when you push it it will pop open. Mine want open without the assistance of a knife can what can I do to fix it, thanks in advance.

 

i had the same problem, what happened was the plastic that is holding the bar and spring which acts as a hinge is broken. if u lift up the dash right below the tray you will see what im talking about. What i did was go on ebay and buy the ash tray unit for 15 bucks and then replaced it. replacing it is just like 1 or 2 scews and a little clip in wire hook up. simple

 

pull up the shifter trim. see if anything is out of position.
