How much weight have you shed on your Max?

With all my mods, I figured I dumped out 85 lbs in excess weight off my Max.

Stillen Y-pipe -18 lbs
RT cat -2 lbs
Removed Bose headunit -3 lbs
Prelude seats -20 lbs
16" Kosei K1 wheels -8 lbs
Stillen B-pipe -14 lbs
removed hood liner -2 lbs

None aftermarket items removed:

Addco sway bar -18 lbs

Total weight reduction: 85 lbs

I'm sure I've shed a couple of pounds off the car... maybe I should shed a couple off myself now.

my max needs to go a diet

I would guesstimate that I have lost nothing from stock. when I ran at the track without spare + seats then i would say I save about 100 lbs.

I wish I could take some extra weight off of mine... 100 pounds would do wonders at the track.

I'm talking about the sunroof and stuff, the hard stuff to take out. I may do that at Island on Dec. 2nd, and 14s here I come.

BTW, I don't like the idea of taking out stuff like seats, makes me think that I'm cheating.

Last time @ the track w/ me in the car i weighed in at 3185lbs @ E-Town.

I had the Tokicos & GC"s in. Way less then OEM w/Intrax.
Stripped 47^2ft of dynamat.
1/8 tank of gas.
Y-pipe also was way less then OEM.

The only weight adder i had was a 30lb tank of NOS.

THis is in my 99 auto.

What else do you guys weigh in at?

BTW-Dave, any difference w/ the RSB off? I knwo that suckeris heavy!

Istill had my 17s on, with 1/3 tank of gas and all of the seats, the jack and the tools still in my trunk. No spare though.

The spare is the trick.

I've done the opposite, but I've gained weight on the Maxima. I estimate my 2 15" subwoofers, amps and stereo equipment to be around 110-120 pounds by itself. The position they are in the trunk means its even worse for lifting up the front end of the car. When I race, I race full interior and spare tire and jack in place. I realize its a tad bit slower, but Im trying to get a realistic time of what my car would do on the street with full equipment.

That is why some of us dont remove out interiors for a more realistic time. I like to know what i would run on the street. Obviosuly if we reduce weight we wll be faster on the track.

You know what they say, race what you bring. I dont know many people if anyone who strips their car for street racing.

I guess everyone around here has too much power to even worry about interiors.

People around here usually race for slips or for braggin rights, not so much for $$$.

Yep, i remembered him.

Hmm, yea i guess TO is diff then NJ hehe. I dont blame ya for taking your interior out though. That is def the way to go when you are tryin to be the fastest NA max though.

Lets not forget those wheels are unsprung rotational weight, so the effect is gonna be different then static weight.

Yep, it works both ways when you're talking about light wheels. Better acceleration simply because they are lighter and better acceleration because the car is lighter. Unsprung weight is a Bee-atch!!

With Intrax springs (2" drop), Koni, and KYB GR-2 (rear), not having a RSB is not a big deal. When the car is that low in the rear, it's not gonna roll much. I honestly can't tell much of a difference. If I had my higher riding Suspension Techniques springs, I'd still have the RSB because the center of gravity is higher. As for the ride, it's better. Not having that 18 lbs of unsprung weight hanging on the rear beam makes for a much better ride over rough surfaces. But like I said, without Intrax or Sprints, I'd still run a RSB.
