I switched over to sythetic on my first oil change and have been using it ever since. What grade of oil should I be putting in for winter? Will 5w30 do the trick (we get very cold temps here)? With normal to hard driving how often should synthetic be changed as well as the filter and still be ok? (Time and miles wise?)

 

5w-30 will work great for cold temps...Most people change synthetic at about 5,000....but I usually go about 7,000....have had oil analysis done...and they told me that oil had plenty of life left after 5,000...so why waste money on new oil when it still works great...use stock nissan oil filters...they are the best you can get for your car..

I usually change my syn. oil about every 4-5k or every 3 months. I also use the Nissan OEM filter as well. People may say all oil filters are the same, i would have to say no. BTW-I use Royal Purple, I did use Mobil 1. 5w30 is the proper oil weight suggested.
