I was talking last night with my buddies, and all of us that drive "Sedans" agreed to give it a Go Sometime in the coming weeks.

We got 5 Cars for the battle. hehe

95 VW Passat VR6 (172 Ponies)
98 Toyota Camry V6 CE (194 Ponies)
2001 Nissan Maxima SE AE <------- MEEEEEEEEEEE (227 w/Ghey Tranny)
2001 Mercedes Benz E 320 (3.2 225 Ponies)
2002 Mercedes Benz C 320 (3.2 215 Ponies)

Guys ... What place do you think I'm gonna end up???

This is gonna be a Drag Race on a 3 lane Highway, 0-60, from STOP. (Yes, we'll have a Scout with Radio 50 cars back)

Any Hints, Tips on what I should do or anyone wanna lend me their Supercharger, Y-Pipe??

Arnt the Benzs alot heavier tho? You might have a good chance if you have a better reaction time.

E320 will smoke you. It is fairly light and has a excellent 5 speed auto.

if you can drive your auto normally, you should take 2nd for sure..maybe first... i don't know about that benz.. but u'll smoke that VW and the Camry

The C320 will be a difficult beat, and the camry is suprisingly fast, but all in all you should be able to beat the E320 and the Passat with ease.

Empz.. if you loose to the Benzes, go poke fun of them saying your car is worth thousands less and lost by so little Just DO NOT loose to the Camry.. that's the closest car to our class.

E Class will beat you also....From a roll those things are fast. From a stoplight it will be even till about 25 then the Benz will pull you.

The E320 is slow...i'd worry if it was a E430 or E55, mmm. I want in..I can play either side, Jap Max or German Benz...Supercharged Benz...hehe.

In my family we have three cars:

2000 Benz E320 4 matic
1999 Nissan Maxima SE
1996 Mazda Protege LX 1.8L 5speed.


The maxima will smoke the benz E320 ... I drive the benz often regularly and damn its feels so slow, doesn't have the get up and go attitude of the maxima..

The C320 is different as it is much smaller and much lighter with pretty much the same engine (down a bit on hp)..

I would not underestimate the vr6 motored car, those things have a very strong pull through out the gears..

Forget the camry.....

I would order it:

1. C320
2. Maxima (maxima could be first under the better control of a better drive like me )
3. TOSSUP

I dont know why eveyone thinks that the E320 is slow. It is faster than a auto 5th gen. C320 has 215 hp and 221 ft lbs of torque and weighs 3450 lbs. E320 weighs 221 hp and 232 ft lbs and weighs 3676 lbs. The benz also has a 5 speed auto vs the maximas 4 speed. I am pretty sure that the 2 benz will win if properly brake torqued and ASR or ESP is shut off.

My mom has a 99' E320 that I drive all the time. From a standstill its decent, but from a roll it moves. It will take my brothers 4th Gen auto with y and intake, so I dont understand why it couldnt take a stock auto.

Your kidding right? The 2nd and 3rd gear pull for the Benz, 4th gear is nothing special and 5th is really only to drop rpm's to cruising level after 90 or so. I really doubt a 320 can take a Max from the line. Even at a roll I think the Max will catch up rather quickly.

You dont know anything about how german cars are engineered. They aren't made for stop light races, but rather for high speed acceleration. Look at the gearing , it is designed for autobahn passing and high speed cruising. From a roll, a E320 will pull on a STOCK 5th gen auto. Our E320 will take my brothers modded 4th gen auto, which is faster at any speed than a stock 5th gen auto.

I was waiting for someone to post this. E320 is just as quick or quicker than the 5th generation Max automatic. It may not feel like it, but numbers tell a different story. The Camry CE is the lightest Camry. I never raced a Camry in my Maxima but I have owned a 94 V6 SE 5speed and It isn't a slouch. The VR6 is some serious competition for you. Those little things can wind up and just go. The C320 should be slightly faster.

But of course, many factors have an effect on the outcome of a race.

The max will maybe hold its own from a stand still till about 50 or so againt the E320. My auto with y pipe and intkae vs my moms e320 from a roll would just be a joke, 3 4 5 gear would just rape me. My car will smoke any 5gen auto(my bro has a five speed and have beaten him on the higway, differnt story from a stand still). Watch out for and the c320 too.

I raced teh newest 02 camry V6 from 0 to 100(km/h) I got 1/2 car length jump on him @ the beginning then at like 60 hes a car behind me then @ 100 he was 1.5~2 cars behind me, enough room that I could merge into his lane. empz has more hp then I do, as long as he launches good, hes fine the camry won't beat him.

DUDE...I just raced a brand spankin new C320 tonight on Frannie Lew, and it was a hella close race. I had an awesome launch and just kept on it. My mod's are minimal to only an intake and y-pipe. I had 1/2 lead up to 80mph then we both cut it off. He gave me the infamous ricer fly boy and flipped the bird on me. WTF?? Good Luck, its all in the launch!
