a) call your insurance company and file a claim?
b) call a junk yard and see how much a bumper is for the same model and color car and get it fixed yourself!

personally i would take B

Me too...if you do A, the insurance company will be more than happy to pay for it, then they will rape you on premiums for the next 10 years. Believe, I am still paying for a $600 claim.

the pics you took are so close.. is it the front or back bumper?

Go through steps 1 & 2 as Sprint says.. keep us updated.

PS- I do have a rear bumper skin in great shape available, send me an email if its the rear bumper you need to replace.

Good luck.

yeah its the rear bumper...here are some new pics...
these are the damages...
bumper - scraped with a round cut...
light-dented in, and a small crack (looks like a crack from inside)
trunt-a little about like the light is dented in...

here are the pics...i circled some of the damages in red, so u know where there are...

Pic one
Damages
Light
Crack in light
bumper
dent

i dont think i am going to change the bumper, because it obviously is going to be hit in the many more years to come...so i will get it changed when its a more severe damage...but im thinking of getting touch up paint for the cut, and i dont know what to do with the light...do u think it shud be changed??? and for the dent in the trunk, i will go check it out with "Dent' Scratch", a local shop, and see what they will say...

btw, the problem is that this is my sisters car, so im kinda hoping that i will get it soon when i get my license , but meanwhile those bastard SUV's shud see where there driving!!

Dont do it.....

The best alternative i have is to buff out the scuff marks and just leave the bumper mark. If you try to put touch up paint on that it will look like you tried to pour the bottle on it. Touch up paint can fix LITTLE problems. it cant save the world. That is my best advice. Also.. try taking out the rear light to see if the deck lid is bent. they might have just pushed the light in.

Right---and when they pay for a total loss to your car, what are they? A hero, I bet. You have to realize that fradulant claims are what raises the majority of our premiums. Sure, some cut-rate companies will rape you on premium for years and years---that's your own fault for having coverage through one of "those companies."

A GOOD insurance company would not increase your premiums enough to even matter over a $600 claim. Maybe $5-10 a month!
