Methane smell with AC, HELP NEEDED

Hello org. well a few days a go I noticed a weird methane type of smell in the car, I did not sh*** in/around the car, haha or pass gas. the fabric smells fine no smells there, trust me i smelled every seat, NOSE to fabric. I noticed the smell is there when the vent is closed and i have the ac on, with the vent open and the ac on the smell is there but not that strong. 08 max, 27k. I have just replaced the air filter with a fram filter but the smell was there before the change. Any help would be appreciated, maybe in cabin filter? thank you guys

Funny thing is i noticed something like this in my 09' i though it was just because the car was sitting or because I started the car and it was fumes from the exhaust or something. Wonder what that smell is. it comes from the Ac vents as well.

Its weird like someone is farting in your car LOL, I also describe the smell as swampish, decaying matter of some sort, I am glad i am not the only one wiht this problem. At least i know i am not going insane, my girl smelled it too. HOW did you guys solve this? or did it just go away? PS we say LOL, shoot its not funny especially if you have someone in the car and they think you farted, especially when i go to lunch wiht co-workers an i drive. I plan to change the incabin filter this weekend

There's sulfur in fuel additives; your engine isn't burning it completely and your catalytic converter is storing it and then releasing it as hydrogen sulfide when you add load to the engine and force more air through.

Try different brands of fuel or different grades.

Thank you Don, that sounds like the answer I was expecting, I had been trying a lesser grade gas lately from Chevron. I will run this tank out and then use a higher grade octane and see what happens, one other question do you know if there is a fuel addative that may help wiht the next tank of gas just to clean the tank a little.

thank you again
