Proper use of dry gas

Is it supposed to be used as a preventative measure, or only used if you detect a problem? I assumed it was to be used as preventative maintenance in the winter months.

I wouldn't use it, it really never gets cold enough around here to freeze gas.

Does moisture only develop if the gas actaully freezes?

The best preventive measure is to keep the tank above 1/2 full, no need for dry gas in that situation then.

The problem is that nothing short of dropping the tank and emptying it will get rid of moisture, dry gas does not displace it.

I have never needed it in MA in the Max, but I have in an old Honda I had. The Honda would run rough and hesitate without it. I wouldn't bother with it in CT unless you have drivability problems.
