When I goto pump gas and open up the gas cap I hear alot of air releasing out. Is this a major problem? What should I do?

yeah...that happens to me too. It hisses for a while right? It's just the gas vapors releasing from the gas tank. I think that when you use your gas, and it gets to empty...there is a lot of pressure inside the gas tank. That's why they tell you to open it up slowly...

Open it slowly? oops!

Speaking of gas stations. . . I love the fact that there are warnings on the pump now that say to turn off your cell phone, have people actually gotten hurt from something happening?

yeh, apparenty sparks from cell phones can ignite gasoline fumes... i saw a warning sign and it had a cell phone and a spark coming out from it.

the gas tank is suppose to be pressurized when opperating. One of the smog checks is to check for the gas cap and make shure its sealing good. oh and never top off your gas tank or you will have gas flooding out of your charcoal canister.
