Why is the 7th gen so much more powerful than a 5.5th/6th gen?

Why is the 7th gen so much more powerful than a 5.5th/6th gen?

I was just curious why the 7th gens have like 30 more hp than the 5.5 or 6th gens.

I know the g35/350z are more powerful because of the different fuel maps and CVTC maps. Also the different intake plenum and exhaust layout.

Is it the same case for the 7th gens?

Or are there some actual hardware differences within the engine?

Sorry if this is a newb question.

Don't forget that Z33 trannies. They make a big difference as well.
I believe the cam timing on 7th gens is different.

Hmm, interesting.

Are the cams physically different or is it some computer trickery?

What I'm getting at is that I want have/do what ever makes them have more power, if this is even possible.

Exhaust cam timing is adjustable now unlike the older gens. Prob some better tuning as well.

I don't know if that was directed towards me, but I based my comment on what rroderiques77 said about the cam timing being different.

I believe they have a more free flowing exhaust and modified intake manifold...also in the 07/08 they dropped the HP to 255 from 265 in 04-06 which widens the gap
