I thought I lost some low end power after I stepped on the gas when the engine was cold, then afterwards, I felt some loss of power in the engine. Maybe it was just be my imagination.

You gotta to be kidding me. If you want your bearings to last more than 20,000 miles (along with the rest of your bottom end) you won't drive the car above 4000-4500 rpm until the motor oil can lubricate more efficiently once it reaches normal operating temps.

Should I not go full throttle until my first oil change at 1500 miles? I got 1300 miles now. Maybe I should take it easy for now. But I cannot control myself, knowing i have all this power. I got a 2002 SE. Like today I was going 120MPH with, I think a new audi A6. They are fast.

You couln't of said it better! You're going to destroy your car racing it without letting the engine oil warm up first...

your engine seizes and turns itself into a 400lb chunk of scrap metal.

The BMW M5 has a warniing system the dis-courages you from racing until the oil has reached normal operating temps. For those of you who like to race a cold engine, take the hint.

hehe.. not really a chunk of scrap metal.. you can always rebuild the bottom end.

If the bearing goes, you'll get rod knock, the car will run as if it were on 4 or 5 cylinders, no power, hesitation, lots of metal-to-metal noise, etc.. basically, you have a useless engine that'll cost $2000-4000 to fix.
