finally ordered my 6 speed
after putting up with the crap of northern VA dealers who think they can chanrge whatever they want i decided to go to the dealer by where i go to school. ended up saving over $1600. 2k2 6-speed, black on black leather with everything but nav for $29,106. the very very very losest i could get the dealers at home was $30,000 after hours and hours of haggling and deal makong. $29,106 is not a great price but MUCH better than i could do with the dealers at home. it was the very first price they came to me with and i was so pleased with that and how they treated me i just said okay. i didnt even really want to try for a better price.
and now i wait...

I hear you, man. Ordered mine over Thanksgiving from Green Gifford in Norfolk. That's after getting nowhere on negotiations in NOVA. Like you, I saved about $1K but I think I could have saved another $500 but I was so shocked that with their offer that I said "Done"!
6sp, HLSD, bose, moonroof, leather, meredian, side airbags, everything but nav for $28,750. Like you, I think there are better deals out there for those with a little more patience.
If anyone tries Green Gifford Nissan (Military Hwy, Norfolk). Ask for Jack Evans, be reasonable and he will make you a good deal.

If a dealer had a 6-spd and an auto both on the lot, does the 6-spd cost more even with a lower sticker? Can you imagine how much the car will go for late summer 2002? The only way to keep the prices from falling is to keep supply low. I didn't go to any dealers myself to see if I could buy an auto 2002 SE for 22,195, but I have no reason to doubt the newspaper. Just wondering. imho 30k for a Maxima is a joke.
