Saw two 2002s in one night, raced and beat one of them.
These are the first 2K2s I've seen in my city, and I happened to see two in one night. Strange. Anyhow, the first one was a black GLE, I talked to the guy at a stoplight for a moment, and we went on our way.
A while later I happened to see an auto SE 2K2. And we were on a long wide open road with a series of stoplights conveniently spaced about 1/2 to 3/4s of a mile apart First light we didn't really do anything. Second light I took off at like 1/2 throttle and he punched it and pulled ahead. I followed suit and punched it myself, and spun like a mad-man through first gear, the roads were wet from rain. I was a good 1.5 cars behind him by 2nd gear and then I started pulling him back in. I reeled him in and got about a length in front of him by the top of 3rd. He looked over at the next stoplight and I smiled and gave a thumbs up. He waved and nodded.
So this light we both knew what was going down from the start, and we got on it immediately. I went at about 2/3 throttle because of the wet roads and still spun, though not as badly as before. I modulated the throttle and went to the top of 1st having never gone past 3/4 throttle the whole time. This whole time he was pulling out on me, I'm assuming they have TCS. 2nd gear was the same thing as the last race, except this time I was at his back door instead of 25 feet behind him. I passed him without looking over and shifted to 3rd about 1 car in front of him. 3rd I kept pulling and shut it down at the top of 3rd again, about 90mph, probably 2.5 cars in front of him. He got next to me and we slowed down together for the next light. He put down his window and was like "hey yours is pretty fast" I said "yeah it moves ok." I told him I liked his car and he said thanks and waved as the light turned green. He turned left and I stayed straight. Thats it.
I know we don't endorse streetracing here, but this one deserved mentioning.
