Tranny probs, help please....
I know, I know, SEARCH, but I have really limited internet access right now and I need help. My tranny started slipping the other day, and it seems to be getting worse. 2nd-3rd slips the worse, sometimes as high as 3-4000 rpms before it catches. Then, if I take overdrive off, the rpms drop down to 4-500, then pick up to 600 or so, it's like the tranny won't stay in 3rd gear unless I'm on the gas. I already checked the fluid level, and it's still bright red and full. I still have some time left on my warranty, I'm planning on a 5spd, but I need a little longer to get all the parts together. What do you guys think, a clutch, a band? It slips a little in all gears now, and just seems to get a little worse everytime I drive it. Thanks in advance for any help.
Since your fluid level is o.k., it must be internal. Definately get it to the dealer before the warranty expires. If you plan on doing a 5-speed conversion, you will be able to get a better price for the warranty replaced auto; just keep the receipt.

Anyone else? Ive actually been driving the car really easy lately, since it's been raining here constantly. I'm gonna call the local Nissan dealer tomorrow, I just don't want to have to pull all the NOS crap out of my car...

I didn't say anywhere my tranny was stock...
Taking the car in wednesday, gives me a little time to pull some mods off so that they don't void warranty...

Let's just hope they don't take apart the VB and inspect it, I doubt any of the service techs would be bright enough to pick up on it anyway, it's not like Nissan has to pay for it, it's an extended warranty from an outside company...

Hogan, it's not just 2-3, it's all of the gears now, 1/2, 2/3, 3/4, they all slip a bit, 2-3 is just the worst, and feels like it's not staying in gear...
