Same sounds from a Cattman and Budget Y pipe..

I met NC00max last week and as we raced thru the streets of VA Beach I kept hearing the so called bee's in can sound. Thing is it wasn't coming from my car.. Many times we were side by side drivin' and talkin and I was thinking to myself "I'm not even accelerating why am I hearing that damn noise". Sure enough I realized it was his car.. I don't know which version of the Cattman NC'00Max has but I heard it.

What we both have in common is our stock exhaust.. We have JWT intakes, Y pipes and stock exhaust and we are both Auto's ('00 and '96) The ppl who I know that have a Y and I don't hear any noise have Aftermarket Exhaust Systems.. Is it posible that the backpressure causes more flex from the flex section which in turm produces more bee's in can(stock exhaust setup) or are Aftermarket exhaust so loud they smother the bees sound??

Any comments??

SO you have budget?

And you hear buzzz. I never noticed with mine. If I open the door with the car runnin it sounds nice under there. And acceleration sounds ok too.

I have a 98 I-30 with the Warpspeed Y-pipe, Place CAI and stock exhaust and do not have any bee's in my can.....BUT (there is always a big butt (sic)), Warpspeed's flex section is designed a little differently to prevent that. I beleive they have a inner flex section to minimize it.

Cattman also uses a lined flex section.

I have stock exhaust and I don't have any bees in the can with my cattman. Doesn't a 5th gen use a different style muffler with some type of backpressure regulator? Maybe that causes it?
Or it could be something as simple as a loose hanger (this was a problem with my first Y-pipe - Warpspeed)
