Referring to my experiences in http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?threadid=72691 I got a letter in the mail yesterday from American Express telling me that the dealership did indeed credit back my account for the part that they screwed up on, and they didnt even ask for the part back. This was after I called american Express and suspended payment for that particular part in question. Now I have an extra speedometer pinion gear laying around. Looks like my voice was finally heard after complaining to Nissan Corporate and writing a letter of complaint to the general manager and the owner of the dealership then putting a stop on payment. So my lesson here is, whenever you can pay by credit card especially for car parts or services. This way you always have a record of what you spent where, and if there is a problem at least you have the last resort to withold payment.
