4th(stock auto) all the way. I have three friends with 3rd gen and they are all SE's (which makes a big difference in 3rd gen) and they are all 5spds. 89 92 93 I have pulled on them from 0-60 slightly and top end I really pull. The 92 seemed to hang with me the best so they switched drivers,(to someone that can really handle a 5spd) but my car still won.

Lets see you "think" you don't know. I have a 96 auto and have personal experiences proving the numbers wrong. This is for my car when stock so others might be different. I have been to the 1/8 mile track and have never seen a 3rd gen (stock) break 10 seconds. I have ran stock a 10.087 so if some 3rd gen has a faster stock time please post.

Me w/ 92-5p. w/ stock wheels, Y and rt cat pulled on a 95 5-sp totally stock + heavy 17" Borbets. He got off the line better(my clutch is toast) but my high end is better(I was pulling into the redline) This is not a stock vs stock situation(the 4-gen is at a worse than stock situation) The race was pretty short also(only in mid-3rd gear). But 3gen vs 4th gen races are fairly rare on this board.

Oh-yeah Everyone has been talking about 0-60 times. I am talking about actual track times. Lets see, we will compare a couple. MaxiPad96 1/8 9.862 Victim64 1/8 10.087 .......10.087 minus 9.862 equals .225 seconds. Victim64 stock 96, MaxiPad96( 96 5-Speed SE, HKS intake, HKS exhaust, Venom 400 Performance Chip) In the 1/8 mile we are talking about 70+ mph. Some have stated that auto 4th gen are supposed to be 1 second slower in 0-60 times. Haven't seen this add up at the track....if you have please share. In MaxiPad96 defense it was his first time at the track and he should improve, but an improvement .775 in the 1/8 don't think so. Also his car has mods and mine did not at the time.....

Brain H posted several verified upper 14s with his N/A 92. The only better N/A VQ numbers are by Jeff K. VE 5 speed beats VQ auto, stock for stock or mod for mod hands down. Also looks better rides nicer with less rattles.

Re: you speak bull$heit

I am glad that you take statistical data that I gathered from my personal experiences and call it "bull$heit". Like I stated before, if a STOCK 5spd VE has a better time in the 1/8 mile than 10.087 PLEASE POST. As soon as I travel to a 1/4 mile track I will post that, but until then the only thing I have to compare to is the 1/8 mile, and my own personal racing experiences. What I do know for sure is that this issue is not "hands down" on either side. Depends on the car and the driver.

Ok ok ok children Let's take it to the track. Remember, the 89, 90, and 91 SE's and GXE had the same motor. That in 5 speed would not beat a 4th gen auto. Your talking about a full sec there. If you are talking about the 92-94 maxima SE vs a 4th auto, that is different. That myself wouldnt know. Like i said, that it to the track and see.

Yes, I agree, and that is what I did. I went to the track, as I have stated, and I raced my friends who have a 92 and a 93. Both SE's and both 5spd's and they never broke my best 1/8 mile time. All cars were stock.......However, it depends on the car and the driver. If someone has a better time in a VE please post.

OK

My father has a 97 auto I have a 94. when Stock I took him for a ride and he was amazed how much faster my car was compared to his. Now I dont have the timeslips here at work but at the strip I had a 10.2 or 10.3 1/8th and this is with my clutch slipping so bad I was losing at LEAST 0.2 in the 1/8th. Hell, Ive run against 4th and 5th gen 5 speeds and been pretty much neck and neck, once again while stock
