Well this weekend was pretty busy with me correcting the camshaft seal that I pushed in too far on the fwd bank and I also removed the new timing belt (Cloyes) and reinstalled (Gates) due to the better reputation of reliability. Also installed my new adjustable fuel pressure regulator and set to 40 psi... Test drove it for about 5 miles....all good. The next day I attempted to find a muffler shop to cut off the rusted 14" resonator and install my 18" Cherrybomb glasspack.....Well I must of drove around checking for various shops to be open....put about 20 miles on the car found a place pulled into there parking lot and the car died! Wow unbelievable!!! Got the shop's charging pack and it wouldn't start the car but I was able to put my windows up....I pulled the starter thank God, I was right across the street from a O'Rielly....test the starter and it failed. So I installed the new starter and waiting for my Dad to come help me figure out the situation. We found the battery @ 5.81v and performed a test with a charging system analyzer found that the system had something that kept coming up as "system noise". We performed the test and found that the altenator was putting out plenty of voltage with no load. But once the load was on with merely the headlights on it was discharging the battery....So of course the 3rd Gen also got treated to a new altenator and it tested great! Made a few small adjustment here and there and this car is quiet and really very surprising as the Isky cams start really making power at around 2300 rpm....I'm presently running the Oem Ecu, and keeping the rpm under 5K until I break-in this engine then, I'll install the JWT flashed Ecu.....
