..How do you bleed fluids?

Yeah..that's all I'm asking. Haha The reason I haven't done any *complicated* fluid changes i.e. clutch, brake, power steering etc is I know it's very easy to get air in the lines, mess something up/possibly have to get the car towed etc. So I need to bleed the system....which I've never done/don't know how to.

I can do the siphon method, but that obv only gets out so much......broke down and paid $60 for the brake fluid to be flushed a few months ago.
Just wondering how to do this and if it's easy and if you REALLY do need two ppl. I do oil, pads/rotors (not calipers, for the same reason) trans fluid, spark plugs etc....I'm somewhat mechanically inclined just never had an occasion to "bleed" anything. Thanks

best one-person brake bleed I have seen.

clutch works the same way.

BUT!!!! if you had the system flushed a couple of months ago, it should be fine, unless you screwed it up. in that case, the above should be fine.

^^ Yup yup yup

For brakes, you can either use a vacula and vacuum out the brake fluid from the reservoir then go to the bleeder screws, or you can suck out all the fluid in the reservoir and get a buddy and have one person pump the brakes up and down until its stiff, THEN have them hold down the brakes firmly, and you open the bleeder screw and let the fluid squirt out, then close it firmly, and tell the person holding to let go. Then repeat... and the generic bleeding procedure is Right Rear, Left Rear, Right Front, and Right Front.

For power steering the easiest and safest way for you to bleed is to use a turkey baster and suck it out and pour new fluid in and repeat until it looks good. OR you can pull the return line on the reservoir and let it empty out and aim the hose into a pan. Then make sure to CAP OFF the hole the hose used to go on. Then fill it up with fresh fluid and turn on your car and turn the steering wheel all the way to the left and hold for 5 seconds then to the right and hold, then turn off the car. Run out and fill the reservoir and turn the car on, and look at the hose if dirty fluid is coming out, get back in the car and turn the wheel both ways and hold like before, then turn off the car. Fill up the reservoir again and turn on the car and look at the hose, and repeat, and ect.

When you see clean fluid coming out of the hose then you have flushed the whole system with clean fluid, and DONE!

I just started to the turkey baster method. My plan is to just do it every couple days until it looks good. Tonight was the first refill and I cycled the wheels back and forth and the fluid looked decent. I will probably dilute the old fluid with new fluid a couple more times.
