its possible. my dad was there a while ago (maybe about 4 or 5 years) and he told me they only had speed limits for trucks and speed limits for night time.

Even if they don't have speeding tickets, police officers can give you reckless driving tickets. If they think you are out of line or out of control, you get a ticket, and believe me RACING will still get you a ticker

Montana's speed limit is now 75. It has been so for more than 2 years.

I'm from Toronto, Canada. I think Maxus should be held in Toronto.
My Reasons:

1) The Canadian Dollar is cheep (so it would cost all you guys from U.S. less $$$)

2) Since, most Max owners have U.S. licence plates the Toronto Cops can't touch you. (You could ignore all fines/tickets you may get, i.e. it's a free for all for all you street racers and we wouln't have to worry about the cops

3) We have a huge street scene here. Plus there are a bunch of us who represent our Max's in Canada. (oh yeah, gas is generally cheeper here too, so fill 'em up!)

Hey guys How about the Kansas Speedway track since it is basically right in the middle of the entire USA!!!!!! basically everyone from both the Westside & the Eastside would be spending an equal amount of time on the highway.

When I was driving limo, I picked up the governor of Montana and he said even when there was no speed limit, the Troopers were ordered to pull people over driving over 95.

Think about this while looking at a map:

Are you REALISTICLY going to drive 3000 miles from the East Coast to the West Coast or visa versa?

All those thinking 'oh yeah sure', Are you married? Do you have a job that you can get time off from for a 2 week stretch? Are you willing to use your whole 2 week FAMILY vacation for this?(if that is all you get) Theres no since in speeding across this great nation and not stopping to look at some things on the way, so it will take 2 weeks. Do you have the CASH to drive out there, eat and stay in hotels for the whole time? If you still are saying 'OH yeah sure', then have a good time at the West Coast Maxus Meet and tell everyone I said HI.

Realistically I think most people would drive a day tops to get to this event, so figure 600 miles(long day). Now draw a circle around NYC at a 600 mile radious. Thats alota space. Pretty much the whole northeast part of the nation.

NOW do the same thing around DC and you almost have the WHOLE EAST COAST!! Why mess with something if it works. DC has an INCREDIBLE life like autocross track with obsticals and everything. It is 40 miles long and called 'THE BELTWAY' It doesnt get much more realistic than that. You can also drive 1 1/2 hours and you are at Skyline drive. There is nothing like the sunrise from the mountain tops, not to mention all the fun hairpin roads to get out there. DC just has alot to offer and if you have to bring the wife and kids, you can ship the off to the museums, or the capital. IMO this would still be the best place to have it.

I do think that there needs to be atleast 3 Maxus meets. East Coast, West Coast and Centrel, because wherever you have it someone is going to be left out. I would not blame the WC guys/gals for not making it to Texas much less the east coast. That is a long *** drive. The
same goes for east coast heading west. It's not pratical. Sorry for the rant. --Jeff Columbia SC

I hear ya, but it should travel around the country. If it was to be in DC again, I wouldn't go. I go to DC on the regular and the same with NYC. I would lovbe to make it a road trip to Cali or the midwest somewhere. I am fortunate to have 4 weeks of vacation a year so the trip wouldn't bother me one bit. I always wanted to drive across the country and personally it would take me 3 full days to do it. I have driven to OKC in 1 1/2 days and I would definitly take routes to see Amerca along the way.

I know one thing about most us NE members, nobody would have to fly us out to get us to go to Maxus if its out west.

I think someone already posted this...but a mid west location won't yield a lot of attendance. DC was a nice turn out because it was 5 hour drive for almost 110 people who decided to show. If you move it to far west, you will lose most of the NY/NJ(NE) support and since at a drop of a dime they get 50-60 people together in a parking lot. DC gets about 20 people at a organized meet I think if we don't do DC, maybe some place further south like Virginia or NC. I think there is a decent following of max's down in dixie. That would get most of them up plus it's not much further for the NE drivers as well. I think Atlantic City would be a good northern spot for all to meet as well.

Massachusetts Sounds nice. It is close to NY, plus anyone from NH Maine VT CT RI and others here in the Northeast have to basicly pass us by and are not all that far from here.

They don't have a day time speed limit although cops start ticketing at about 100mph or so... the night time speed limit is 80mph

That actually is a great idea!!! have a meet in NYC, Chicago, Dallas or Vegas and maybe Seattle simultaneously! Hook all of em up with cameras and an internet connection or something! We'll make CNN and FOX News and bring a little long time coming attention to Maxima.

I also thought that would be a good idea. But i dont know , it might be harder for the organizers (jambo and others) to put more than one together and keep them all going and organized or whatever at the same time. But they could have one guy represent each area and that would probably work.
