Any Ideas on where MAXUS will be in 2002?

I was just wondering if anyone knows? Who is it that organizes it anyways? My vote is for somewhere in the midwest, Chicago at RT. 66 dragway would be nice.

If near the DC/Baltimore region again, I give a vote for Cecil County Dragway, which is the track I normally go to. It is right near the MD/Delaware line DIRECTLY off I-95 so this will be convenient for everybody in the TriState area, Philly, PA, DE the Baltimore/DC areas as well as others who would want to travel further from New England, the South East and from the Mississippi river area. It is a decent 1/4 mile track which is owned and maintained by a local construction company, so the track is in great shape, unlike 75-80 dragway of 2001. Close bigtowns with hotels include Newark or Wilmington DE. The grounds are also huge, paved and unpaved, and if held in conjunction with another event I'm sure DynoJet can be there too.

Lets have it in Lowell Ma. There is a huge field that we can use or even in Tewksbury they have a big lot with car shows on weekends. That would be plenty of space for it. And it people are staying for a few days there are tons of hotels around here within a short distance.

I could go for St. Louis, MO, because its only like a 12 hour drive. Las Vegas on the other hand is like 40 hours. Chicago is 3 hours, and there are alot of max owners. I guess what it comes down to is that we'll have to probably have 2 Maxus' this year. A west coast one and a midwest/eastcoast one.

What are you gonna do? I can take a couple of weeks and we'd have some places we can stop along the way like Oklahoma. I have family there.

I think that it should be on the Mid-atlantic region. Not in NY, because all of you NE people have way to much fun caravaning to places so I don't think it would be fair to take that away from you. I also think that a Vegas tripi would be fun, except that it's on about a 50 hour drive from the east coast. I western PA site would be a pretty good choice, it would accomidate most of the eastern seaboard plus some of the plains area Indiana, illinois, kentucky, and even the canajuns(canada).

Anyone from NYC , do you know of a place to stay that will have good prices. I know it sounds kinda bad comming out, but they will probably have low prices on rooms after everything that has happened.

like i said before.. Toronto.. its a beautiful city.. and Maxus has never been out of the US.. and the Canadian members here are strong numbers and they show this board being hosted in the US lots of support and respect..

now.. my other points..

a west coast major meet? 15 people
a midwest major meet? 6 people
a texas major meet? 15 people
an northeast coast mini meet? 20 people
an northeast coast major meet? 100+ people..

so you can have it in the midwest with 10 people or on the west coast with maybe 20 people.. its all your choices..

i mean really , NYC has everything you want/need. sights to see , places to go , FAO Shwartz <<< everyone loves huge toystores. And for guys that are into it , plenty of strip joints. we can go to SCORES and see howard stern.
