Aftermarket heated seats? please help>
I am getting custom leather seats in a few weeks and I was wondering if there is a aftermarket heated seat setup I could install in my car? I remember JC Whitney selling a universal kit a few years. But after searching there web site I could not find it anymore. So does anyone know of a place I can order it from? Thanks a lot for your help.

Emax02 - Do a search. I think there was a group deal for heated seat inserts.
It is already expired, but perhaps you could contact the manufacturer that the group deal was buying from. I think they were around $100-$150 or so for the set.

How hard is it to put in the module(s)? How many are there? Does it matter if the seat is not power? What is the approximate junkyard cost for module and switch for one seat?

Hmm, very interesting.... what do the heating pads look like and how do they install under the seat? I'm just wondering because it might be nice to try adding this to my 3rd Gen....
Are they on a timer though, or have multiple heat settings? (Would this be too complicated?) Or are the units more or less self-contained and you just need to supply power and a switch?

No they aren't on a timer. There is a rocker switch with three positions...HIGH, LOW and OFF. At least on the 5th gens they are like that.

does your butt need heat?...
i was just wondering, other than heating the butt part of the seat in the winter to warm your ***, is there a good reason for having heated seats? if your butt was cold, would you drive worse or something? can you catch a cold from your ***?
p.s. - i'm just being a lame fool, i'm bored, thats all.

I don't think a junkyard would sell you just the heated seat, maybe the on off swith? Junk yards will usually only sell a whole seat if you know what I mean. Maybe I will take one of the heated seats out of my 95 and put it it my 02 .
