How about a Maxus "special event" in the west...

How about a Maxus "special event" in the west...
There's no getting around the fact that demographics seem to favor the east or west coasts (though who doubt the west coast should have seen the lot at Stillen's little soiree last spring). But I've had an event idea for a while that might really be enjoyed by a smaller number of dedicated drivers.
In short, it would involve meeting at a fairly remote location in far northern Arizona that I've checked out for a 2-3 day wide-open "all driving" event in some of the most beautiful canyon country of the southwest. This wouldn't be next door to anybody, but the location and experience would be new and pretty fantastic to anybody. Highways in great shape and absolutely empty. Very little population, and very little law enforcement. The countryside and the roads look like (and literally are) something from a car commercial.
If you want to see where I have in mind, go to: http://maps.yahoo.com/py/maps.py?Pyt...poititle=&poi=
literally the middle of nowhere, there's a full service lodge with fairly reasonable prices, a pretty good restaurant and a bar. Page, Arizona and Lake Powell are less than 30 miles away, lots to do there, you could make it into a full vacation. Best of all, the North Rim of the Grand Canyon is only a nice banzai run away; nobody goes there and the view is better than the overrun South Rim across the Canyon.
Climate would work for this location between May 1 mid-October. That part of Arizona is not hot in the summer.
I'll be happy to get involved as a major sponsor with any show in the west (the real west), SoCal, Vegas, Phoenix, etc., but if there's significant interest in what I'm proposing, Cattman Performance will get behind the sponsorship in a major way, make sure there is major magazine involvement, and possibly make it an annual event.
Again, not meant to attract hundreds, or substitute for a Maxus meet, but something pretty cool for a couple dozen cars to do. Let me know if this sound interesting.

The yahoo map address didn't come through in one piece. Just go to a mapping program and look for Marble Canyon, Arizona.
