Regarding TINTS.. important

ok just had to get your attention. Ive searched up numerous posts takling about tints, but none of them that i have found so far have solved my problems and they are:

My car is a 2001 gxe Black on Black cloth.. i would like opinions on wat would make my car look phatter den it already is =]. (so far i only got most of the lights changed.. no money for mods =/)

1. What are the different like TYPES of tints.(if thats what they are called) metallic, mirror, platinum, black, smoked.. are there any more types? and can you guys give me any specifics on each type? Pros Cons.. (if there are any that is)
2. What specific brands are better? (the one i keep hearing good things about from you guys id MADICO.. ) wat else is good and wont fade to purple?
3. Which percent do you guys prefer? (im leaning towards all around 15... because 5 seems a bit too dark.. 15s good enough i think) ne suggestions?

and i dont liek that front being lighter than the back. to me it just seems tacky.. no offense to any of the other members. id liek the whoel thing to be even.. and i dont want a 35 where its barely doing jack IMO. all responses that are helpful are much appreciated.. and for some of the members who like to flame.. shut up..

I suggest you go with 15-20% no lighter and no darker. I had 20% on my old car with a dark/charcoal/black interior and dark blue exterior. It was like LIMO tint at night, pretty much nothing can be seen inside. But it was see through during the day but not enough to make anything out. That might be a plus and help you not get hassled by cops since it is a little see through.. Also, with anything darker then 15% it will be tough to see OUT of the car, so driving at night looking out the window on the road on sharp 90% turns etc.. will suck.
Just my advice...

I would get 20%... basically I have the same things to say as NYCe (sorry medic ). It's light enough to see out of yet from the right angle it looks totally black.

See for yourself, front is 35%, back is 20%...

In CT, the only thing you can sneak by with is 20%, 35 is the legal limit however cops will not bust you for just 20. anything lower then they make you take them off. I think 20 is perfect, just enough to block my tan interior but not to dark for the birds.

hey man,
i've got the madico tint(20%) w/ basically the same car, black w/ grey cloth. it's a great tint, looks dark in most situations except on a really bright sunny day w/ the moonroof open. plus if you want it darker inside, just put down your sunshades and no will be able to see in. and it's guaranteed not to fade. i love it.

Play it safe...I have 5% all the way around and sometimes it's hard to see outside your windows at night

Tint

Whatever you do, get a tint that matches the color of your paint.

Also, where do they let you drive around with tint on the FRONT!!!

No its' way illeagal but you really can't tell from the inside because it is very light tint, I can see fine out of every window at night, unless on a backroad with no lights, you can see cars behind you and everything, I love it if it's raining or overcast you can't NOT see in the car at all

just make sure you get something that is metalic based.. not dye base.. it will help a lot on keeping the color, and also cooler in the summer... I have formula one tint and it come with life time warrenty.. I have it for about 1 year now.. still in perfect shape, no scartchs, or fade

It's illegal anywhere to tint the front windshield. A strip at the top is legal, but any tint on the windshield is illegal.

You need to get 20% all the way around. If you go much darker, you'll have a hard time seeing out at night. It may look killer in the day time, but at night it's rough to see out. Just like a lot of other postings, you also make an easy target for cops who don't have anything better to do, since you do stand out and they can tell you're not legal from a mile away. just my opinion...

i have 25% and i like it alot...enough to see through during the day and dark at night so you cant unless there is light shining through it. Funny thing is... i got pulled over the other day in one of the redneck towns(here in Georgia) that i was driving through for my tint. i have driven by cops all the time, even nodded my head at them and they wave back. i drive through PODUNK town and they pull me over.
